You would think with a name like Tacolandia that the menu would be skewed towards said tacos. That is not the case at all as tacos are listed as a side order for $1.25 each and in the appetizers section as two tacos, rice, and beans for $4.50 (I thought that was a taco dinner.) In fact, tortas are given the most attention on the menu with 8 varieties including Hawaiian, Cuban, and Bionica (whatever that is) ranging from $3.00 to $5.00. I found my beloved steak burrito in the side order section for $3.00. Thinking the burrito would be extremely small considering the low price, I also ordered a chicken gordita for $1.50.

I’ll start by saying avoid ordering anything with chicken in it as my gordita contained cartilage in just about every bite. Yuck. The steak, on the other hand, was very good. Juicy but not greasy, the steak was served up with beans, lettuce, tomato, and cheese in a very fresh, slightly grilled but still chewy tortilla that was unfortunately cut in half diagonally. The chips were excellent. So good in fact, that they can be eaten alone. The salsa was rather unflavorful and of medium heat and didn’t do anything for the chips.

Tacolandia offers a great steak burrito at a great price. The most expensive item on the menu is a carne asada dinner for $8.00. Not too many places have good food at these reasonable prices. Stop in if you’re nearby.
