Las Piñatas just opened this summer and is easy to miss due to its location. No doubt this is why flags are strung across the parking lot.

Dining as a party of one this day I received a small basket of chips and some pico de gallo. The chips had a good crunch yet were unsalted and merely average in flavor. I found the pico to be excellent (you’ll agree unless you don’t like lime).

I had the option of ordering my steak burrito in Junior or King size. I opted for the King and received a nearly two pound burrito in the process. The steak was finely chopped and was absent of fat or gristle. Beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and cheese were also inside although the ingredient distribution was not the best (beans and sour cream were out at the edges of the burrito). The steak wasn’t the most flavorful, however the pico and the bottles of red and verde sauce were there to help. The red sauce had a spicy pizza-like flavor and the green had mild heat but not much flavor.

Las Piñatas’ King burrito is an excellent value and pretty good on flavor (especially with liberal use of sauce or pico de gallo). Give it a shot.
