Señor Salsa is located a couple of miles north of the Tri-State Tollway on Halsted Street. Seventeen burritos dominate the menu that also features breakfast, dinners, seafood, tacos and tortas, and burgers, dogs, and gyros. Notable burritos include birria (goat) and a combo burrito containing your choice of meat plus Polish sausage. Interesting.
The deliciously fresh and chewy tortilla held juicy and excellently flavored steak along with beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and sour cream. No ingredient was overwhelming and the steak took center stage as it should. The hot sauce was very good (not too hot) and accompanied the burrito nicely.
Señor Salsa serves up a great burrito and deserves consideration if you’re in the area. Enough said.

I recently started wroking in the Northwest Indiana area last June and this blog has led me to some really good burritos. Keep up the good work. Have you ever reviewed Avila's Bar and Grill near Indianapolis Blvd. and Chicago Ave.?

Wondering about your valued opinion on:
El Taco Mariachi
8620 Kennedy Avenue, Highland
Do you think you could grace us with a review of this establishment? I don't dare trust a Mexican restaurant without first consulting the Burrito Digest!

Yes, please review El Taco Mariachi in Highland. I'd like to thank the person who recommended it above because I live about a mile-and-a-half away and I had never even heard of the place, neither has a good friend of mine who absolutely loves Mexican food. If it's where I think it is (not exactly ON Kennedy Ave.), that's a pretty crappy location. I'd love to hear if it's any good.

Taco Mariachi in Highland appears to be closed. Haven't been by lately, but their phone number has been disconnected :-(
It was close to me too.

I just called their no. and they answered. They are still open as of 12-20-2011

Really? I called them back in May, and I got the "The number you have dialed has been disconnected" message. Furthermore, their Facebook page hasn't had anything done to it since 11/13/10, and their page on Google Maps has disappeared. I just assumed they were history.
I'll have to try to call them again.

Well, I haven't gotten around to calling yet, but Google has given me just about all the information I need. Taco Mariachi is now known as Maria's Buena Cocina. The address (8620 Kennedy Ave. Suite 3) and phone number (219-923-6000) are the same. Their page on Yelp appeared today (1/15/12).
