In the same location as Johnathon’s Mexican & American Food and sporting the same phone number is La Hacienda Azteca. A fairly large breakfast menu featuring pancakes, French toast, and crepes is also similar to the old Johnathon’s.

The steak burrito was however, markedly better. The tortilla was fresh, had an excellent chewiness to it, and was filled with steak, beans, lettuce, tomatoes (abundantly so), and cheese. The ingredient distribution could have been better, especially when I hit a pocket that seemed to consist of all tomatoes and some beans. The steak was good with nice seasoning although a little dry. One piece of gristle made an appearance. Lastly, the salsas were very good with the verde preferable to the roja.

Though improved from my last visit to its prior iteration over six months ago, La Hacienda Azteca needs to step up its game more in the burrito department to compete with the likes of Las Salsas.
